Minister of Culture Inspects Modern Art Museum, Al-Bab Hall

Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, inspected the Modern Egyptian Art Museum and “Al-Bab” Hall for Plastic Arts to follow up the latest procedures of the maintenance and development in the museum to raise its efficiency.

Dr. Abdel Dayem was accompanied by Dr. Khaled Sorour, Head of the Plastic Arts Sector.

Furthermore, the minister inspected the work of the artistic committee whose task is to review, document, classify, digitize and create a database of all artistic works that are preserved in the museum.

The Ministry of Culture is putting final touches for the museum’s re-operation early next November and the reoperation of “Al- Bab” Hall at the end of August 2020.

The minister said that artistic creativity in the modern era comes as an extension of the miracles of the Pharaonic civilization, which was one of an earlier eternal component of plastic art.

She affirmed total adherence to the time plan of completing the maintenance and development operations to reopen the museum, as it is one of the means of forming the awareness and conscience of the new generations.

It is noteworthy that the process of developing the museum includes the replacement and renewal of the following systems: electrical generators, security, surveillance systems, civil protection system, maintenance of air-conditioning, walls, floors and others related system.
