Mini-dramas, also known as micro-dramas or short-form vertical dramas, are currently experiencing a massive surge in popularity.
Originating in China, the short-form, mobile-first series with episodes lasting 1-3 minutes and fast-paced, cliffhanger-driven plots.
Chinese studios lead the production of these dramas, producing 5,000–8,000 new series annually, ten times more than the rest of the world.
These high-emotion, low-budget soap operas are designed for quick consumption, with the market expected to reach $14 billion by 2027.
In a move reflecting a new development in the digital content industry, WATCH IT is taking part in the trend with two original mini-dramas, “Ebn Elsherka” and “Alb Maftouh,".
The shows presents a different story through about 60 short episodes, each not exceeding two minutes in length, providing an intensive and fast viewing experience away from the traditional long series.
In addition, The Different banner is developing a micro-drama titled “The Case 110”, Suzan Najm Aldeen, and Sherif Ramzy.
