Tourism Min. Organizes Bike Marathon on Occasion of World Tourism Day

Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, participated in a cycling marathon organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on Friday in Sharm El-Sheikh to celebrate World Tourism Day.

This marathon came on the sidelines of the visit of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities to Sharm El Sheikh with the ministers of civil aviation, the environment and the state for the media, and 30 ambassadors of foreign countries in Egypt to celebrate World Tourism Day.

Ambassador Badr Abdel-Ati, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Wasif, President of the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Tourism also participated in the marathon.

The marathon was launched in front of the Ministers and Ambassadors Residence Hotel and lasted for nearly an hour.

The ambassadors expressed their enjoyment of this marathon and the German ambassador in Cairo suggested that an international bike competition should be held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The Ambassador of Cameroon won first place in the Marathon, and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities promised him that he would be the first to see the new archaeological discovery in the Saqqara antiquities area when it was announced early next month.
