Dr. Ali Al-Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, said that the wheat reserves in Egypt suffice until next January.

He added that Egypt has self-sufficiency in rice and the reserve covers 6 months, noting that up to 270 million loaves of bread are provided daily despite all global conditions.

The minister, in his speech before President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, at the conference for the start of the wheat harvest season at Toshka, stressed that the strategy for providing food commodities includes guaranteeing a reserve of at least 6 months and increasing distribution outlets.

He continued to say that the state has taken measures to support the wheat crop through exceptional incentives and increase storage capacities.

He affirmed that Egypt achieved self-sufficiency in a large number of strategic crops because the food security file is a top priority for the Egyptian state through parallel tracks.
