After the massive success Millie Bobby Brown had with ‘Stranger Things’ series, she had the perfect chance to produce the Netflix/Legendary Pictures film, ‘Enola Holmes’, which is now streaming.

Brown played the role of Sherlock Holmes’s younger sister, Enola Holmes, who has a superior intellect.

Brown explained  the core of the character by saying: “She’s trying to find who she is while being smothered by her famous last name, trying to find her mother and understand if she likes the boy.”

“Everybody else wants to control her life, specifically men.” The Emmy-nominated “Stranger Things” star added.

The story is based on the young-adult detective novel by Nancy Springer which revolves around a girl who had been raised to believe that she can do anything. Later on, she discovered that her mother disappeared. The girl reunited with her brother Sherlock, the famous detective, and Mycroft, who decides to send her to a boarding school for a chance to be molded into an acceptable member of society.

Enola Holmes” is directed by Harry Bradbeer, the Emmy Award-winning director of “Fleabag”. The screenplay was adapted by prolific British writer Jack Thorne, whose credits include the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and the TV series “His Dark Materials.”

“Taking on additional responsibilities beyond acting meant that there was a certain level of excitement and nervousness going into,” Brown said.

“I was starring in the film, so I was focused very much on that,” she added. “But I’ve always been into production, I’ve always been into behind-the-scenes. So this was a great opportunity for me.”
