Military Spox Tops SEENews Best Spokesperson in 2019 Shortlist

As part of SEENews poll to choose the Best Spokesperson of the Year 2019, here are brief profiles of the four shortlisted characters. The profiles are being published consecutively.

The profiles are deemed as an additional help to the readers so as to choose the correct person for the SEENews Best Spokesperson of the Year 2019 Award.

Colonel Tamer El Refaie has been the military spokesperson for the Armed Forces since January 2017 succeeding Brigadier Mohamed Samir Abdel-Aziz Ghoneim.

The biography of Colonel Tamer El Refaie:

  • His full name is Tamer Mohamed Mahmoud El Refaie.
  • Was born on 7/23/1973.
  • Graduated from the Military College in 1994.
  • Served at the military intelligence and reconnaissance
  • Obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Military Sciences.
  • He also received a classy thunderbolt squad, and a tank shooting squad.
  • Holds a master’s degree in military science at the Command and Staff College.
  • Obtained the theoretical training course for NATO in the Netherlands.
  • Received the Information Analysis Course for Combating Terrorism from the US Central Command.
  • As for civil rehabilitation, he holds a diploma in public administration, Helwan University.
  • He held the post of military observer at the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
  • He worked in the field of information analysis at the Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department.
  • The military spokesman was awarded the first class military duty
  • He won the medal of long service and role model.

Refaie succeeded in obtaining many medals, most importantly the 25th Anniversary of the October Victories - 50th Anniversary of the July Revolution - 25th Anniversary of the Sinai Liberation - 25 January 2011 - 30 June 2013 - the United Nations Medal.
