CAIRO, Jan.3 (SEE)- Former Egypt International Ahmed Hossam Mido was named as the manager of the Week in Saudi Arabia, after leading his team, Al Wehda, to defeat Al-Ahli 2-1 thanks to a late goal from their Brazilian striker, Marcos Guilherme.
Mido was appointed as the club’s advisor until the end of the season before later announcing that he will be the club manager till they assign a new person for the position.
Mido’s had a disasterous start with the team as they lost to Alfaisaly but he bounced back against Al-Ahli and led Al Wehda to achieve their first ever victory over Al Ahli at the League.
Mido’s first signing as Al Wehda manager was Kasongo Kabongo who joined the club from Zamalek on a loan until the end of the season.
Al Wehda are sixth at the League table with 24 points from 7 victories, 3 draws and five losses.
