American actor, Michael B. Jordan's Black Superman project, "Val Zod", has found its writers.
In July, sources revealed that Jordan's production company Outlier Society had hired a writer who was working on a script for the limited series at the time.
Now, it found two writers to help shape the story for "Val Zod". The HBO Max adaptation will be scripted by Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters, with Outlier Society producing for DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. TV.
Jordan will serve as executive producer along with Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society, while Stefano Agosto, SVP Television for Outlier Society, will oversee the series.
The project is based on the DC character, Val-Zod, a Black incarnation of Superman from Earth-2.
Val-Zod is a Kryptonian who finds refuge on Earth and shares the same powers as Clark Kent/Kal-El.
He uses his powers to fight evil and even battled at one point an Earth-2 version of Superman that has been brainwashed by Darkseid, although this is later revealed to be a clone of the original Kal-El.
Val-Zod was introduced during the New 52-era by creators Tom Taylor, Nicola Scott, and Robson Rocha. He made his first appearance in 2014's Earth 2 #19.
Metayer and Peters are writers for both TV and movie, recently worked on "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts", the seventh installment in the Transformers franchise, which is set to debut on June 24, 2022.
