Amnesty International has confirmed that Mexico has recorded the largest number of Coronavirus victims among medical workers in the world.

According to the organization's data, at least 7,000 medical workers have died from the Corona pandemic around the world, of whom 1,320 were in Mexico.

Other countries with high levels of physician deaths include the United States, Brazil and India, where 1,077, 634 and 573 medical workers died, respectively.

The head of the organization's economic and social justice department, Steve Cockburn, said that "after months since the start of the pandemic, medical workers are still dying at terrifying rates in countries such as Mexico, Brazil and the United States."

He called for the establishment of cooperation at the global level in order to ensure the means of protection for doctors "so that they can continue in their critical work without risking their lives."

It is noteworthy that the United States, Brazil and India are among the countries with the largest number of infections and deaths from the Coronavirus.

Mexico has recorded more than 610 thousand infections and about 66 thousand deaths due to the Coronavirus.

The Mexican Ministry of Health announced the registration of 5,937 new cases of Coronavirus and 513 deaths during the last day.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health indicated that the total number of people infected with Coronavirus reached 616,894 cases, and the death toll was 66,329.

The ministry confirmed that the real number of people infected with the deadly virus in the country may be higher than the number of officially confirmed cases.

Experts revealed that Latin America is the region with the most prevalence of Coronavirus in the world, with more than 7 million infections recorded so far.

Mexico recorded the third largest global death toll of Corona, and it is among the ten countries with the largest number of infected people.

Mexico's Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard announced that his country plans to participate in the third phase trials of the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine against the Corona virus next October.

He said that the vaccine may be supplied to Mexico, and then thousands of volunteers will test it next month, if it is approved by the relevant Mexican authorities.

Ebrard had previously stated that 2000 Mexican volunteers would participate in clinical tests of the "Sputnik V" vaccine.

The aforementioned vaccine became the first vaccine against the Coronavirus registered in the world.

About 20 countries showed interest in the Russian vaccine, among them Mexico, which is seeking to participate in various international coalitions concerned with developing a vaccine against the virus, which has killed more than 60,000 people in the country.

The minister indicated that his country will receive less than two thousand doses of the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine against the Coronavirus, for the third phase tests to be carried out.

Eberard added that it is very good news because we will buy time by that and the end will not await (the results of the third phase tests in other countries.

He confirmed that doctors in his country would participate in the third phase tests of two Chinese vaccines, American and French-British vaccines, and the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine, which was registered in the world as the first vaccine.

The minister revealed that the vaccine developed by "Johnson & Johnson" is the closest to this stage, and that its tests will start next September.

The head of the Russian Fund for Direct Investments, Kirill Dmitriev, said that the fund had received requests from more than 20 countries to buy one billion doses of the Russian vaccine, adding that Russia has reached agreements with 5 countries on the production of the vaccine.

Dmitriev noted that the production capabilities available in those countries allow them to manufacture 500 million doses annually.
