Meteorologists Expect Cold, Unstable Weather on Friday, Cairo 17C

Meteorologists predict that cold weather to prevail tomorrow, Friday, across Egypt during the daylight, growing very cold by night.

Furthermore, heavy rains are expected to prevail in some areas, and thundershowers may occur at a few places.

The meteorologists also predicted that the northeastern and central Sinai coasts will experience cold weather during the day, very cold day at night, and thunderstorms to hit the coasts that reach the level of torrential winds.

Meanwhile, South Sinai, Red Sea mountains, will face cold weather during the day, and very cold at night. Torrential rain and thunderstorms that might produce torrential winds; Active winds stirring sand and dust that might produce storm and lead to marine disorder.

Maximum temperatures predicted on Friday for the following cities are 17C in Cairo, 18C in Alexandria, 19C in Sohag, 32C in Luxor, and 23C in Aswan.

It is worth mentioning that various parts of Cairo and other governorates have witnessed Thursday a spell of unstable weather, including heavy rains, thunder, and lighting.

This unstable wave will lead to severe changes in the weather of the country starting from Thursday, till Saturday.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) report noted that heavy rains are expected to hit the coastal cities and Lower Egypt. Thunderous rains, possibly reaching flood levels, are expected in Sinai, Suez Gulf’s cities, and southern the country.

EMA also pointed to strong winds that raise dust and sand across the country, urging citizens to be careful during this weather.

On the other hand, Egypt’s General Administration of Traffic has announced Thursday morning, the closure of seven roads due to bad, and unstable weather conditions across the country’s governorates.

The roads include “Qena/Luxor”, “Qena/Suhag”, “Qena/Nagaa Hamadi”, “Assuit/Al-Kharga”, “Al Wahat Al Baharia/ Al Farafra” and “Paris/ Al-Kharga”.

The aim of the closure is to prevent accidents due to heavy winds that resulted in reduced visibility.
