Lionel Messi's Inter Miami are officially invited for 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA's director Gianni Infantino announced on Sunday.
Inter Miami thrashed New England 6-2 in the Major League Soccer (MLS). Messi scored a second hat-trick in less than 3 days, after his hat-trick with Argentina against Bolivia.
Moreover, Luis Suarez scored two goals for the pink-shirted team.
This will be the first time for Inter Miami to participate in the global cup competition.
The team will be the host representative, so, Miami's Hard Rock Stadium could potentially host the opening match of the tournament.
MLS would be represented by two teams as the Seattle Sounders, who qualified after winning the 2022 CONCACAF Champions Cup title.
32 teams will participate in the tournament with Clubs from AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA set to partake.
The tournament will take place from June 15 to July 13 2025.
