After being eliminated from the CONCACAF, Messi will shift his focus and fix his eyes on the Copa America Cup.
He will lead Argentine's campaign to defend their title in June.
Messi is likely to join Argentina's lineup for two friendlies before the Copa America on June 9 in Chicago, and June 14 in Landover, Maryland.
Argentina will begin their campaign in the group stage of the Copa America by facing Canada on June 20 in Atlanta, then Chile on June 25 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, before facing Peru on June 29 in Miami.
