On Thursday, iconic football star Lionel Messi led MLS side Inter Miami to the semi-final of semi-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Inter Miami secured a dramatic 3–1 victory over fellow MLS side Los Angeles FC in the second leg of the Champions Cup quarter-final.
The first leg, played last week, had ended 1–0 in favor of LAFC.
Messi scored twice and provided an assist in the second leg, leading his team to a 3–2 aggregate victory and winning the Man of the Match award.
Inter Miami will face Al Ahly in the opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, after both teams were drawn into Group A alongside FC Porto (Portugal) and Palmeiras (Brazil).
