Lionel Messi asked the Saudi club Al-Hilal to delay his move to the Saudi club for the next season, the GOAL reported.
These reports came after the potential agreement between Gorge Messi, and Barcelona President Joan Laporta in the past few hours.
The Argentine star held a meeting with a Saudi delegation, Monday, where he requested that he would postpone joining the Saudi side to the next season.
However, the Saudi representatives were surprised by Messi's feedback. They told Messi's delegation that next year's offer will be absolutely different from the one currently on the table.
Messi's decision came hours after his father and agent Jorge, admitted that he would love to return to Barcelona, and La Liga accepted the financial viability plan of Barcelona.
Messi departed from Paris Saint Germain after the end of his contract a few days ago.
