On Tuesday, football legend, and Argentina's icon, Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi congratulated his Argentina teammate and Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez, and Emiliano Martinez after the 2024 Ballon d'Or Ceremony in Paris.
Messi congratulated Lautaro Martinez after finishing seventh in the ranking of the prize. This is also the highest ranking for a Serie A player in the 30-name list.
Martinez scored five goals, including Argentina's victory goal in the final of Copa America against Colombia.
The Inter Miami star also congratulated Argentina and Aston Villa's goalkeeper Martinez after winning the Yashin Trophy.
He said: “Congratulations to all the winners nominees at the 2024 Ballon d’Or,” Messi wrote in an Instagram story.
He added: “Especially to Dibu (how amazing, another award for the best goalkeeper in the world) and to Lautaro, Leo and Ale. It’s really great to see them all there."
