Mercedes-Benz announced on Wednesday, its plans to produce six new all-electric vehicles, as well as its own proprietary MB.OS operating system, a software platform that will be developed in-house and rolled in 2024.

According to Mercedes, the 1st new model is the EQS luxury sedan, which will be the 1st representative of the car-maker’s new dedicated architecture and will launch by 2021, with an impressive range of more than 700km.

Also, the company is Scoring great strides on battery technology, working in-house with key strategic partners CATL, Farasis, and Sila Nano on new materials and production processes to increase range and reduce charging time and cost.

On other hand, Mercedes's executives outlined plans to depress 20 % of operating costs by 2025. The cost reductions will almost certainly result in a further layoff, Auto news reported.

Later, Mercedes unveiled the Visions AVTR project based on the sci-fi movie, Avatar. The colors match, it has a ‘touch and go’ mechanism to kick-start the vehicle.

Its combined engine power can create over 350 kW, a new benchmark for EQ power. Furthermore, the revolutionary battery technology is based on graphene-based organic cell chemistry and thus completely eliminates rare, toxic, and expensive earth such as metals.

The AVTR’s sideways movements are unlike anything else with four wheels and, because of the position of the central controller, the passenger can easily take over driving duties. This all happens in silence, of course, thanks to the AVTR’s fully electric drivetrain with a total power output of 469 horsepower.

For the first time, the Vision AVTR concept vehicle is using a revolutionary battery technology based on a graphene-based organic cell chemistry that is completely clean of rare earths and metals. The materials of the battery are compostable and therefore completely recyclable, according to the firm.
