Egyptian actress, Menna Shalaby's new film "Ahl El Eib" (Shameless people) has been postponed indefinitely, due to production problems.

The filmmakers announced last October to continue final preparations for the start of filming.

The film revolves around six people who resort to illegal methods to make money.

It also stars Elham Shahin, Eyad Nassar, Mohamed Mamdouh, directed by Mohamed Yassin, and written by Tamer Habib.

The actress was honored recently at the opening ceremony of the 41st edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), which ran from November (20-29).

She received the Faten Hamama excellence award for her outstanding career.

Shalaby’s latest artistic work is film "Khayaal Ma'atah"(Scarecrow) co-starring Ahmed Helmy, which premiered in Eid al-Adha holidays.

Shalaby, born on July 24, 1981, is the daughter of former belly dancer and actress Zizi Mustafa.

She showed passion for acting from a very early age, no doubt due to the exposure to the industry her mother’s fame provided.

Shalaby made her film debut in “Al Saher” (The Magician) as Nour in 2001. She scored her next role alongside prominent actress Layla Elwy in 2004 film “Baheb El Seema”.

Since then, she co-starred with many talented actors and directors, such as renowned director Youssef Chahine in film “Heya Fawda” (2007), Ahmed Abdallah in film “Microphone” (2010) and Yousry Nasrallah in film "Baad el Mawkeaa” (2012) about the infamous Battle of the Camel during the January 25 uprising.

She is known for her roles in 2011 film “Ezaet Hob”, in 2011 film “Bebo we Basher”, in 2010 film “Nour Einy”, in 2006 film "Ouija", in 2006 film “An El Eshq Wel Hawa”, in 2005 film “Banat West El balad”, in 2004 film “Enta omry”, in 2004 film “Baheb El Cima”, in 2015 TV series “Nyran Sadeeqa”, and in 2002 “Ayna qalbi”.

Shalaby is one of the brightest actresses in the younger generation of Egyptian stars.
