On Monday, Russia revealed that McDonald’s restaurants in the country decided to reopen under a new name.

This came after closing its branches in Russia against the backdrop of economic sanctions imposed on Moscow.

The “Izvestia” website quoting private sources, stated that the new name of McDonald’s will be “Mc”, providing that the company maintains all the official products and meals that it exports around the world.

The source indicated the naming decision came after coordination with the main company in the US, whereby the new company will make minor changes to the names of meals and sandwiches while maintaining and taking into account the quality.

On March 14, McDonald’s announced the temporary closure of its 850 restaurants throughout Russia; this is against the background of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that many major American, European, Japanese, and, Korean companies have announced suspending their business in Russia against the backdrop of the Russian special operation.
