Mbappé to Wear Iconic No.10 Jersey

Real Madrid officially announced today that French star Kylian Mbappé will wear the iconic number 10 jersey, succeeding Croatian legend Luka Modrić, who departed this summer to join AC Milan.

Mbappé wore the number 9 jersey during his first season with Real Madrid, a campaign in which he shone brightly, contributing to 49 goals.

The official account of the royal club shared an image of Mbappé's new number 10 shirt, a symbolic move reflecting the pivotal role the Frenchman is expected to play in the upcoming season, stepping into the shoes of one of the club’s greatest legends of the past decade.

The number 10 jersey at Real Madrid has been worn by several football icons, led by Portuguese star Luís Figo, who holds the record for most goal contributions in the shirt with a total of 152.

Following him is Luka Modrić with 83 contributions, then James Rodríguez (76), and Mesut Özil (69), with earlier greats like Ferenc Puskás, Clarence Seedorf, and Michael Laudrup also having worn the prestigious number.
