Kylian Mbappe picked up a muscle injury during Real Madrid’s 1 to 1 draw against Real Betis in round 32 of La Liga on Friday.
The French forward was forced off in the 81st minute after experiencing discomfort. According to L Equipe, Mbappe suffered a strain in the hamstring of his left leg.
The club confirmed to Agence France Presse that the injury is muscular and not a serious tear, though further tests are still pending.
Speaking after the match, coach Alvaro Arbeloa said the player had been feeling discomfort and that his condition will be monitored over the coming days.
Real Madrid’s next match is scheduled for May 3 away against Espanyol in Barcelona, giving Mbappe some time to recover.
Following the draw, Real Madrid remain on 74 points, trailing league leaders Barcelona, who have 82 points and a game in hand against Girona.
