Once again, the French star Kylian Mbappe returned to the news headlines as the 24-star is a step closer to Real Madrid, Marca reported on Friday.
The Spanish outlet revealed that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain started contacts to negotiate Mbappe's move to La Liga.
This step came after Mbappe's rejection to meet the representatives of the Saudi Al Hilal.
Al-Hilal made an official bid of €300 million ($328 million) for the 24-year-old, a record-breaking world transfer salary since 2017.
The dispute between the French star and the Qatari-owned club started when Mbappe sent a letter to the administration of the Paris Saint-Germain informing them of his exit from the Garden of Princes.
On the other hand, the Parisian club refused the departure of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for free, asking him for extending his contract which was declined by the French star.
Mbappe was put up for sale and dropped from PSG's preseason tour of Japan as punishment.
