Egyptian Tennis icon Mayar Sherif is getting ready for participating in another master or pro squash tournament, Italy Open Squash. It will kick off on May 9.
It is expected that her ranking of Sherif to be improved after advancing to the quarter-final of the Madrid Squash Open.
The Egyptian Tennis star was knocked out from the quarter-final of the Madrid Open 2023.
Sherif was defeated by the world's No.2 Aryna Sabalenka. Sherif captured the win for the first round, before Sabalenka made a comeback to end the game victorious.
The Egyptian star became the first Egyptian tennis player to advance to the quarter-final round for one of the masters or pros tournaments.
She advanced to the quarter-final after defeating Elise Mertens, previously, she qualified for the round of the last 16 after beating Caroline Garcia.
Currently, Sherif is in 59th place in the international ranking for professional tennis players.
