Egyptian tennis star Mayar Sherif improved her WTA ranking on Monday, after jumping 11 spots to be the 50th. Sherif holds 1090 points.
This ranking boost follows Sherif’s recent triumph at the Madrid Challenger, marking her first title of the 2025 season.
The tournament is part of the international tennis circuit, classified under the WTA 100-point events.
Held in the Spanish capital, the event witnessed an impressive run by Sherif, who clinched the title by defeating Mexican player Renata Zarazúa in the final. Sherif delivered a dominant performance, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
