Mataria's Iftar Rocks Social Media Again

Social media platforms circulated about 2,500 persons gathering at an iftar party in Cairo's Mataria district during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The inhabitants of Ezbet Hamada, Mataria, organized on Monday a communal iftar, as a get-together of the people in the local district.

Each and every family in this area participated in preparing food for this unique event.

"We invited about 2,500 persons to attend this occasion, as one of the means to rally the people of the local district. They are residents of the local area," said Ehab Anwar, an organizer.

"There were about 200 tables," he added. Seven years ago, residents of Ezbet Hamada began organizing such parties, bringing together all the members of the region.

This great meal isn't being held for the first time, but the residents there are keen on showing the spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
