MasterCard Confirms Egypt's Superiority in E-services

Magdy Hassan, General Manager of MasterCard Egypt and Pakistan said that Egypt is one of first countries in the Middle East to achieve progress in digital solutions, confirming Egypt's superiority in e-services.

Hassan added during the signing of a partnership agreement between the Housing and Development Bank and MasterCard International.

He pointed out that the Bank has succeeded in transforming itself into a comprehensive entity that provides all e-services, inline with the states plan towards digital transformation.

He explained that MasterCard aims to provide technical and financial support for the development and expansion of the cards business in the bank to help achieve the goals of economic development, stimulate the use of e-payments and enhance the concept of financial inclusion.

This comes in activation of the bank's goals and strategy to expand the provision of digital banking services and electronic payment channels with competitive advantages in line with the state's and the central bank's strategy to transform into a cashless society.

On his part, Hassan Ghanem, Chairman of the Housing and Development Bank said that he believes in the importance of expanding the use of e-payments in line with the policy of the Central Bank, represented in the internet banking, mobile banking, electronic wallet and activating a the "QR Code" mechanism, in addition to the spread of ATM networks.

Walid Matar, Assistant managing director for retail banking at the Housing and Development Bank said that this agreement allows the bank to expand the issuance of credit cards and debit cards, especially platinum ones, while taking advantage of a variety of exclusive benefits for "HDB MasterCard" card users, including competitive return rates.
