Masar Women Football Club staged a strong comeback to defeat Wadi Degla Women 3–2 in the Egypt Women’s Cup final, held at the sub pitch of the Air Defense Stadium.
Wadi Degla initially took the lead, but Masar turned the match around with a determined second-half performance to secure the victory and claim the national cup title.
The win completes a domestic double for Masar, who had already secured the Women’s League title after a tight race with Wadi Degla and Al Ahly Women earlier in the season.
The final was officiated by referee Shahenda Maghrabi, assisted by Mai Hassan and Nadine Mohamed, with Aya Khaled Antar serving as fourth official.
Wadi Degla reached the final after a strong cup run that included a narrow victory over ZED FC and a 2-1 semifinal win against Al Ahly, where they overturned a tough contest to book their place in the final.
Masar’s path to the trophy included victories over Zamalek and Modern Sport, with a semifinal win sealed by goals from Yasmina and Nour Abdel Wahab.
The result also comes a season after Al Ahly lifted the previous edition of the cup, defeating Masar in the final.
