On Friday, Manchester United, officially, announced the appointment of Sporting Lisbon Ruben Amorim as their first football team new head coach.
The Portuguese coach signed with the club a three-year contract on 11 November.
Sporting confirmed in a statement that Manchester United have agreed to pay 11 million euros for Amorim's release clause.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who named an interim coach after Erik ten Hag was sacked, will lead the team in the next three fixtures.
In an official statement, Manchester United said that "Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football".
Amorim's first game in charge will be on 24 November, after the international break, in the Premier League against Ipswich Town.
His first home game will be against Norwegian Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on 28 November.
