Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw by hosts West Ham United FC on Saturday in round 30 of the Premier League at London Stadium.

The match was competitive despite Manchester City dominating possession for most of the game, while West Ham relied mainly on counterattacks.

Egypt international Omar Marmoush started the match for City and played an important role before being substituted in the 60th minute for Rayan Cherki. Marmoush assisted the opening goal for the visitors.

City took the lead in the 31st minute through Bernardo Silva. However, West Ham quickly responded as Konstantinos Mavropanos scored the equalizer just four minutes later in the 35th minute.

Manchester City pushed for a second goal in the second half, but the West Ham defense and goalkeeper managed to block all attempts. City manager Pep Guardiola watched the match from the stands while serving a suspension.

The result marks City’s second consecutive draw in the Premier League after their 2–2 stalemate with Nottingham Forest in the previous round. They also recently suffered a 3–0 defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

With the draw, Manchester City move to 61 points in second place in the league standings, nine points behind leaders Arsenal FC, who have played one more match. West Ham, meanwhile, rise to 29 points and sit 17th in the table.
