Sporting Lisbon's head coach Ruben Amorim is close to being the next coach for the English Premier League side Manchester United.
The Portuguese coach will be freed from his contract with the Portuguese club, so, Sporting Lisbon confirmed they will receive a €10m release clause.
The Portuguese could now be appointed to be the new manager of the English team. He may start his mission on Sunday with a Premier League match against Chelsea.
Amorim agreed to be the club’s next manager and work at the Old Trafford.
Sporting said in a statement: "Manchester United FC expressed interest in hiring coach Ruben Amorim, and the Board of Directors of Sporting SAD referred to the terms and conditions provided for in the employment contract in force between the Company and the coach, specifically for the respective termination clause and for the amount of Euro 10,000,000.00.
“Manchester United have registered an interest in hiring Ruben Amorim and paying his €10 million release clause.”
