Manchester City's midfielder and Spain international Rodri likely will miss the rest of the season due to an ACL injury, according to Spanish reports on Monday.
The 28-year-old suffered an injury during yesterday's game with the Citizens that ended with a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the English Premier League after going down holding his right knee.
ESPN and Spanish sports outlet 'Marca' reported that tests on Monday have confirmed an ACL tear.
Rodri's injury is a major hit for the Citizens and it could be a great challenge for the team that wish to claim the fifth consecutive Premier League title and ambitions of capturing the UEFA Champions League.
Pep Guardiola said after Arsenal's game: "Rodri is strong. He leaves the pitch in this action because he felt something, otherwise Rodri stays there," adding: "He's the best holding midfielder in the world, he is a potential Ballon d'Or winner. I would love for him to win (the Ballon d'Or)."
