Everton have agreed a deal to sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City, with the England international set to undergo a medical today.
The agreement includes an option to buy for around £50 million ($67.3m).
The 29-year-old, whose contract at the Etihad runs until 2027, made just 16 starts in all competitions last season and was left out of City’s final Premier League matchday squad, as well as their Club World Cup trip to the United States.
Pep Guardiola has often preferred Phil Foden, Savinho, Jeremy Doku, Kevin De Bruyne, Omar Marmoush and Bernardo Silva in attacking roles.
Grealish joined City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a British-record £100m fee, winning three Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup and Club World Cup.
He played a key role in the 2022-23 treble-winning season, starting every Champions League knockout match.
If finalised, Grealish will become Everton’s fifth signing of the summer, joining Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carlos Alcaraz, who made his loan move permanent.
