Man City Win UEFA Super Cup for 1st Time

On Wednesday,  Manchester City won the UEFA Super Cup for the first time in its history after a penalty victory over the Spanish Sevilla.

The Premier League and Champions League winners won the cup after defeating the Spanish 5-4 on penalties after the 1-1 draw in full time in Athens, Greece.

Youssef En-Nesyri opened the scoring with a precise header in the first half for Sevilla before the Citizens' Cole Palmer hit the nets to get the equalizer for his team.

Sevilla’s Nemanja Gudelj was the one who missed the decisive penalty in the shootout, his ball crashed the bar to hand the trophy to City for the first time in the club’s history.

The win marked the club’s great success during the latest season after being a triple-crowned club.

Earlier, the Citizens lost in the Community Shield to Arsenal.
