Manchester City were held to a 2–2 draw by visiting Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, in Matchweek 29 of the 2025–26 Premier League season.

City started the match on the front foot and managed to break the deadlock in the 31st minute.

Ryan Cherki delivered a cross from the right flank into the penalty area, where Semenyo met the ball with a powerful left-footed volley that found the back of the net, giving the hosts the lead.

Nottingham Forest responded quickly after the break. In the 56th minute, Morgan Gibbs-White equalized for the visitors, cleverly finishing with a backheel inside the box following a cross that beat the City defense.

The parity did not last long, as Manchester City regained the advantage in the 62nd minute. Rodri rose inside the penalty area to head home a precise cross, restoring the lead for the defending champions.

However, Nottingham Forest refused to back down and struck again in the 77th minute. Elliot Anderson fired a composed shot from outside the box, placing the ball to the left of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to secure a valuable equalizer for the visitors.

With the result, Manchester City move to 60 points in second place, seven points behind league leaders Arsenal, who sit on 67 points as the title race approaches its decisive stage.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest gain an important boost in their battle for survival, climbing to 17th place with 28 points and temporarily moving away from the relegation zone.
