Man City Extend Phil Foden's Contract until 2030

Manchester City have secured the future of Phil Foden after the England international signed a new four-year contract extension, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2030, with an option to extend for an additional year.

The 26-year-old forward ended speculation over his future after entering the final year of his previous contract. The renewal comes as a major boost for new head coach Enzo Maresca ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Speaking after signing the new deal, Foden expressed his pride at continuing with the club where he developed through the academy.

"Committing my future to City means everything to me. Playing for this club is all I've ever wanted to do and it's always an honour to wear the shirt," Foden said.

The England international added that he remains motivated to win more trophies after enjoying the most successful period in the club's history.

Since breaking into City's first team, Foden has won six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, two FA Cups and five League Cups. 

He is now one of the most decorated players in Manchester City's history alongside Bernardo Silva and John Stones.

The contract extension follows a challenging campaign for Foden, who struggled with injuries and inconsistent form. 

He also missed England's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after an injury-disrupted season.

Despite those setbacks, City remain fully committed to one of their academy graduates, who has scored 110 goals in 369 appearances for the club.

Foden also welcomed the appointment of Maresca, having previously worked with the Italian during City's historic treble-winning campaign in 2022-23.

"I've had Enzo before. His attention to detail and the small things that make a big difference are brilliant. The way he likes to play with possession suits my game really well," Foden said.

Manchester City hope the new contract will allow Foden to rediscover his best form as the club begins a new era under Maresca and prepares to challenge for domestic and European honours once again.
