At 3:00 PM local time, MC Alger will visit Mamelodi Sundowns for a crucial Group Stage match in the CAF Champions League.

Group C is heading toward one of the most dramatic conclusions of the tournament, with all four teams still in contention for the quarterfinals. At the same time on Saturday evening, Al-Hilal will host Saint Éloi Lupopo in another critical matchup.

The current standings: Al-Hilal – 8 points (Group leader), MC Alger – 7 points, Mamelodi Sundowns – 6 points, and Saint Éloi Lupopo – 5 points

A draw for Al-Hilal against Lupopo guarantees their progression to the quarterfinals, regardless of the Sundowns vs. Mouloudia result.

For the Algerian side, only a win will secure qualification outright and avoid complicated tiebreaker scenarios.

While a draw might suffice if Sundowns slip up, a loss would freeze Mouloudia’s tally at 7 points, eliminating them from the 2025–2026 CAF Champions League race.

In a dramatic twist, the Sundowns have suspended their performance analyst Mario Masha ahead of the decisive match.

Reports claim he allegedly leaked tactical information to former Sundowns coach Rolani Mokwena, now leading Mouloudia d'Alger.

According to Flashscore, the suspension is precautionary, pending an internal disciplinary hearing.

Masha, who has served Sundowns for over a decade and was part of the team during coach Pitso Mosimane’s tenure, denies the allegations.

The controversy is expected to add another layer of tension to a match that already carries high stakes: Sundowns must win to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive after a 1-1 draw with Saint Éloi Lupopo, while Mouloudia aims to secure a spot at the top of the group.
