Riyad Mahrez played a key role as Al Ahli Saudi FC came from behind to defeat Vissel Kobe 2-1 and secure a place in the AFC Champions League Elite final.
The Saudi side overturned an early deficit after conceding in the first half, with goals from Wenderson Galeno and Ivan Toney completing the comeback.
Mahrez delivered a solid performance, earning a rating of 7/10. The Algerian winger saw a well-taken goal ruled out following a VAR review, denying him a place on the scoresheet.
Statistically, Mahrez recorded 67 touches and maintained a 74 percent pass accuracy. He also created four key chances for teammates, though none were converted.
The left-footed playmaker attempted two shots on target and completed one successful dribble from five attempts, while winning three of his nine duels.
With qualification secured, Mahrez and Al Ahli are now one step away from making history by winning back-to-back continental titles, an unprecedented achievement for the Jeddah-based club.
The final is scheduled for next Saturday, where Al Ahli will face the winner of the semi-final between Shabab Al Ahli Club and Machida Zelvia.
