Mahmoud Hemida Dishes on His New Movie “El Ghasala”

Renowned actor, Mahmoud Hemida has shared the factors that he relies on when choosing any new artistic work.

Hamida revealed in an interview with the “MBC trending” program: "The first factor that motivates me to choose the artistic work that I am participating in is a good scenario, and then I talk to the director who nominated me for my role."

"If the director convinced me through my conversation with him why he chose me for the work I do not go for it," he added.

Hamida explained: "This is what I also followed in my new movie “El Ghasala” (The Washing Machine), directed by Essam Abdel Hamid. We talked about this work and the reason for choosing me,”.

“I found myself facing a distinguished director who is well versed in his tools and has a high artistic vision,” he added.

The movie genre is a light comedy-fantasy, starring Hannah El Zahed, Ahmed Hatem, Shereen Reda, Bayoumi Fouad, and others.

Hemida would play the older version of Hatem’s character in the movie, which is set 50 years in the future.

Mahmoud Hemida upcoming projects

Hemida is also set to co-star in the movie, “Tasfya Hassab”, which will be produced by “Film of Egypt production” Production Company.

Tasfya Hassab co-starring, Amr Saad, Mahmoud Hemida, Yosra El Lozy, written by Mostafa Hamdy, and directed by Ahmed Abdel Baset.

Furthermore, Hemida has another upcoming project with actor Ahmed Ezz. He is starring in Ezz’s new movie “El Aref” (The knower).

The movie is considered to be the largest production in Egyptian cinema, and the first Egyptian film to be shot in four countries, which are, Egypt, Italy, Bulgaria, and Malaysia.

In addition, the production company used four international stunt coordinator experts to implement dangerous scenes.

It was salted to the theaters this summer but now the movie is facing an undetermined future due to coronavirus.

The novel coronavirus was first reported in Wuhan, China, and has infected more than one million people and killed over 234,139 worldwide. It also hit several celebrities and top political figures around the world.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 800,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

Coronavirus can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

It is known that older people appear to be more vulnerable to the effects of the emerging virus.

The virus caused complete paralysis in all activities and events with large gatherings worldwide due to concerns over the spread of the virus.

Moreover, Hemida participated in Ramadan with TV series “Lama Kona Soghiren” (When we were little).

The series starring prominent actor Mahmoud Hemida, Khaled El-Nabawy, Riham Hagag, Hany Adel, Nesreen Amin, Karim Kassem, Nabil Eissa, Mahmoud Hegazy, and others.

“Lama Kona Soghiren” is written by Ayman Salama, directed by Mohamed Ali produced by Synergy production company and by Ahmed Abdel Aty.

It is worth mentioning that Hemida, born on December 7, 1953, is an Egyptian actor and producer.

In 1981, he earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce. Hemida kicked off his acting career with performances on television.

He participated in several TV series including “Harat Al Shurafa”, and “Al Wassiyah”, his performance in that latter drew a lot of praise and acclaim for his talents and marked the beginning of his rise as a star.

The start of Hemida’s career in the cinema began with performing a leading role alongside veteran actor Ahmed Zaki in the 1990 movie “Al Embrator”.

He has also founded a production company that has released several films including “Janat Al Shayytan” as well as founded an entertainment magazine titled “Al Fann Al Sabeaa”.

Hemida has proved his uniqueness in his ability to perform the characters he is assigned with efficiency, who is notable for his best form in “Faris Al Madinah”, and “Aafarit Al Asfalt”.
