Al Ahly’s legendary figure Mahmoud El Khatib will continue as president of the club for another term after running unopposed in the upcoming elections.
The nomination period closed on Friday evening without any opponents for El Khatib submitting their candidacy for the presidency.
The same outcome applied to several other senior positions. Yassin Mansour secured the role of vice president, Khaled Mortagy was confirmed as treasurer, and Ibrahim El-Amary and Roweida Hesham were also elected as board members under 35.
According to Al Ahly’s electoral regulations, all unopposed candidates must still secure at least 25% approval from members present at the upcoming General Assembly on October 31 to make their positions official.
Meanwhile, competition remains open for the senior board member seats, where candidates from El-Khatib’s list will face off against four independent contenders.
Senior Board Member Candidates for the membership include Tarek Kandil, Mohamed El Damati, Mohamed El-Ghazawy, Mohamed El-Garhy, Sayed Abdelhafiz, Ahmed Hossam Awad, and Hazem Hilal and they will need to wait for the elections, as there are various candidates for the board membership.
