Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, stressed, on Saturday, that the petroleum sector was suffering from financial and structural challenges while the state was supporting it.
During the inauguration of a number of national projects in Alexandria, the prime minister pointed out that the sector in other countries is a resource, “so we have a very important vision in this regard, aiming at achieving self-sufficiency in petroleum products by 2022.”
He added: “We import petroleum products and our goal from launching mega projects is achieving Self-sufficiency in these products. "
“The natural gas delivery system began in 1981 to 6 million housing units, and now it is delivered to 11.3 million units,” Madbouly revealed pointing out to a plan to deliver the natural gas to 18 million units within 3 years, as the natural gas in homes is easier, cleaner for citizens.
On the other hand, Mabouly noted that despite all the challenges that the state and government faced while implementing Mahmoudiyah Canal Road Axis Development Project, it was completed in less than two years.
“The goal of Mahmoudiyah Canal Road Axis Development Project is to serve the Egyptian and Alexandrian residents,” the prime minister stressed, noting that the project costs reached EGP 5.5 billion.
