Madbouli Reviews Progress of GEM Project

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reviewed the current situation of the ongoing project of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), during a meeting with Minister of Tourism and Antiques Ahmed Issa and the General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum Atef Moftah.

During the meeting, Issa highlighted progress pertinent to the GEM project, implementation rates, construction phases, and the display techniques at the museum's various halls, especially the graphics and multimedia as well as the plan to show the various artifacts in the main halls.

In turn, Moftah informed the Prime Minister that the construction works of GEM and the restoration process of its antiques have been completed by 100 percent.

In preparation for its inauguration, Madbouli also followed up on the solar boat project's second phase which includes the final restoration, reassembly, and installation of the boat, after all the pieces that have been extracted from their discovery site near the Great Pyramid of Khufu, and restored by the museum’s laboratories.

GEM, a Giza landmark, is set to open to the public this year, following the completion of its yard.
