Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina announced today that he will travel to Egypt on Friday to attend his national team’s game with DR Congo in AFCON Round of 16.
The Barea made a great achievement by finishing top in Group B and qualifying for the knockout phase after beating three-time tournament winners Nigeria 2-0.
The president also decided to mobilize an Airbus 380, with 480 seats, to transport fans to attend clash.
The flight will leave Antananarivo on Saturday and return immediately after the game.
Madagascar, ranked 108th in world football, finished on seven points to six for second-placed Nigeria. Guinea’s four points in third place should be enough to see them also advance to the last 16 but Burundi, in last place without any points, are eliminated.
