French President Emmanuel Macron announced today, Friday, during the "New Global Finance Pact" summit in Paris, the development of a road map to work on approving a new global financial pact. He  called for work to reform global financial institutions.

The French President spoke of a "complete consensus" for a "deep reform" of the global financial system to make it "more effective, fairer and more adapted to today's world", at the end of the Paris summit that brought together over two days about 40 heads of state and government.

Macron announced the holding of a "follow-up meeting" in Paris two years later on this "new consensus" to have better financial weapons to combat poverty and climate warming, quoting the "Agence France Presse" (AFP).

In the same context, The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, had said that the global financial system had become unfair, failed to protect the poorest countries, and was unable to respond to the current challenges.
