On Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron said the situation in Libya has had an obvious impact on its neighbors, especially the Sahel region, pointing out that the Libyan crisis led to a deterioration of the security situation in the Sahel region.

"Trafficking in arms, human beings and drugs has been reinforced throughout the Sahel," Macron said in an exclusive interview with the French newspaper Jeune Afrique, stressing that the "terrorists" have taken advantage of this to obtain supplies and better organize themselves.

The French president added that all parties hat intervened in Libya, including France, have a share of responsibility in the instability that has reigned in Libya since 2011.

On Friday, the Interior Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, met with the French Defense Minister, the Interior Minister and the Foreign Minister in Paris to discuss the joint security cooperation.

The media office of the Libyan minister said in a statement that Bashagha discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint action between Libya and France in security affairs.
