Llorente's Brace Sends Atletico Madrid into Uefa CL Quarter-Finals

Marcos Llorente scored twice to send Atletico Madrid into the Uefa Champions League quarter finals on Thursday after defeating holders Liverpool 4-2 on aggregate.

The Spanish club ended the first tie in a 1-0 win.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain curled an excellent cross towards the penalty spot, where Wijnaldum met the ball with a great header as the ball zipped up and past Oblak in the 44th minute, putting the Reds ahead.

Firmino doubled his side's lead after a great cross from Wijnaldum towards Madrid's penalty area, where Firmino met it with a great header, which rebounded off the post. He sidefooted home the rebound in the 94th minute.

Costa came close to silencing the Anfield Stadium in the 13th second when he ran onto a nice through pass from Joao Felix, rumbled to the edge of the area and hit a low shot that Adrian ushered into the side netting.

Madrid's goalkeeper Oblak was brought into action for the first time in the game when he made a brilliant save to Wijnaldum's powerful header in the 5th minute.

Five minutes later, Sadio Mane passed a promising ball to Mohamed Salah, who cut inside, but his curling shot went above the bar.

Four minutes later, Oblak showed up once again with another outstanding save after a brilliant strike from Oxlade-Chamberlain on the edge of the box.

Mo Salah made a nice move and played a great pass to Mane, whose first-time effort was saved by Oblak.

The iconic Egyptian star curled an excellent cross towards Madrid's penalty area, where Robertson met the ball an outstanding header but his ball hit the crossbar and bounced out.

Mo Salah made an incredible move from the right, showing dazzling footwork, cut inside onto his left foot and his strong drive went just over the bar in the 87th minute.

Madrid scored a late goal in the injury time when Saúl Ñíguez headed the ball superbly into the top corner, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside.
