Liverpool's Fate for 2019 Club World Cup Revealed

FIFA has revealed Liverpool's opponents at the 2019 Club World Cup, which is set to take place in Qatar. Under the draw, which was held on Monday in Zurich, the European Champions will face either Qatar's Al Sadd, Caledonia's Hienghene Sport or Mexico's CF Monterrey.

According to the rules of the tournament, the UEFA Champions League winners will automatically advance to the semi-finals therefore, the Reds will begin their adventure on Wednesday, December 18..

Liverpool will take part in this tournament for the first time since 2005 in Japan, where they defeated Deportivo Saprissa with unanswered three goals in the semi-finals, before finishing as runners-up to Sao Paolo in 2005. The Reds are looking forward to claiming the title for the first time in their history.

The tournament is set to take place from 11 to 21 December as Qatar's Al Sadd will play against Hienghene Sport in the opening game.

Earlier today. Liverpool traveled to Italy, where they will begin their campaign of defending their Champions League crown against Napoli.

Jürgen Klopp's men claimed the UEFA Champions League title last year after defeating Tottenham with unanswered two goals.

The German coach named his 20-man squad for the Champions League opening game as it witnessed the absence of  the Belgian striker Divock Origi  due to his ankle injury.

The 20-man squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Kelleher, Lonergan

Defenders: Van Dijk, Lovren, Gomez, Robertson, Matip, Alexander-Arnold

Midfielders: Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Milner, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana

Forwards: Firmino, Mane, Salah, Shaqiri, Brewster
