Liverpool announced that medical tests confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury sustained during the Champions League defeat to Galatasaray on Wednesday.
The Reds lost the match 1–0 in Istanbul.
According to The Athletic, medical scans revealed the extent of the injury, ruling the Brazilian out until after the November international break.
The setback means Alisson will miss several key fixtures, including clashes with Chelsea, Manchester United, Eintracht Frankfurt, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Real Madrid, and Manchester City.
His absence comes at a difficult moment for Liverpool, who have suffered a dip in form, losing their first Premier League match of the season to Crystal Palace and falling short in the Champions League midweek.
Liverpool will face Chelsea next on Saturday in Matchday 7 of the English Premier League.
