Liverpool Football Club, featuring the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, clinched their tenth English League Cup title, defeating Chelsea with a 1-0 victory in the Carabao Cup final held at Wembley Stadium.

Virgil van Dijk scored the decisive goal for the Reds in the 118th minute of the match. Chelsea's Raheem Sterling found the net against Liverpool, but the goal was disallowed by the referee for offside in the 33rd minute. Similarly, a goal by Van Dijk for Liverpool was nullified after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review due to offside.

Liverpool's manager, Jürgen Klopp, excluded Egyptian star Mohamed Salah from the lineup against Chelsea in today's final due to an injury. Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez was also absent from the squad.

The Reds entered the match with a lengthy injury list, posing significant challenges for manager Jürgen Klopp. The team was without several key players, including Alisson, Diogo Jota, Doak, Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, and Thiago Alcantara.

Liverpool secured their spot in the final of this season's Carabao Cup by overcoming Fulham with a 3-2 aggregate score in the semi-finals. Chelsea, on the other hand, reached the final by defeating Middlesbrough with a 6-2 aggregate score in their semi-final encounters.
