On Wednesday, Morocco continued their shocking performance to the world in major tournaments, but this time at the 2024 Olympic Games. The Atlas Lions defeated Argentina's U-23 team in the opening round of the games 2-1.
In a game witnessed a major suspension due to riots between the crowds. The game was suspended for two hours after Argentina scored the equalizer in the minute 12 of the added time.
After the suspension, the referees checked the second goal of Argentina through VAR, and disallowed the second goal of Argentina, and informed the two teams to play the remaining three minutes in the game which is ended with a 2-1 victory for Morocco.

Messi wrote in Instagram Stories “insólito”, meaning extraordinary or unusual in Spanish. He added a "flushed face" emoji, which typically represents feelings of surprise or embarrassment.
Mascherano, the coach of Argentina U-23, called the events "the biggest circus" he had ever witnessed.
He added: "I can't explain what happened. We spent about an hour and a half in the dressing room where they never told us what was going to happen."
"The Moroccan captains didn't want to play, we didn't want to continue, and fans threw things at us. It's the biggest circus I've ever seen in my life, I don't know why they spent an hour and 20 minutes reviewing a play."
The gaols during the game was scored by Morocco's Soufiane Rahimi to put Morocco 2-0 up before Argentina’s Giuliano Simeone hit the Moroccan nets in minute 68.
