Argentine legend Lionel Messi continues to rewrite football history after scoring his 904th career goal, moving one step closer to the milestone of 1000 goals.
The achievement came during Inter Miami’s match against Colorado Rapids on Saturday in the MLS.
Messi opened the scoring in the 18th minute from the penalty spot, giving his side an early advantage.
He then added a second goal in the first half, delivering another standout performance despite his advancing age.
The Argentine star now sits just 96 goals away from reaching the 1000-goal mark, a milestone that would further cement his legacy as one of the greatest players in football history.
Meanwhile, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo remains in the race, having reached 968 career goals, leaving him just 32 goals short of the same historic milestone.
The race toward 1000 goals continues to capture global attention, as two of football’s all-time greats push the limits of longevity and excellence.
