Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, met Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, Chief of the Cypriot National Guard, and his accompanying delegation, who are currently in an official visit to Egypt during which they attended the main stage of "Medusa-12" drills.
The meeting focused on a number of issues related to the activities and fields of military cooperation, and the exchange of experiences in various military fields.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces stressed the depth of the historical relations and ties between the two friendly countries, pointing out to the Armed Forces' keenness to strengthen the frameworks of strategic cooperation between the Egyptian and Cypriot armed forces, in a way that achieves the common interests of both countries.
On his part, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis affirmed his country's pride in the level of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in many fields, stressing his appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian armed forces in laying the foundations for peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
